Phrases:
Magnets have two magnetic poles, called south pole (S) and north pole (N), referring to the magnetic poles of the earth.
Equal poles repel each other. Opposite poles attract each other. The magnetic force increases strongly approaching one pole to the other.
Ferromagnetic materials, such as iron or steel, can become magnetized touching them with the pole of a magnet and then pulling the magnet over them.
It is possible to explain the magnetism of a bar magnet imagining that it is full of little elementary magnets. If the elementary magnets are aligned, a magnetic effect is observable, if they aren't, the metal bar shows no magnetic effect.
The magnetic field is represented with lines. Along the field lines the magnetic force acts. The magnetic field lines point from the north to the south pole.

A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible form of ruler.
It consists of a metal strip
with linear-measurement markings. It is a common measuring tool. Its
design allows for a measure of great length to be easily carried in
pocket or toolkit and permits one to measure around curves or corners.

Electrical motors use ball bearings to fit the movable rotor into the motor casting.
It is important that transformer coils are completly dry. Therefore the coil drying oven is used.
To check the electrical insulation of a coil an insulation tester is used.
Electrical conductors are insulated to prevent electrical strokes.
A infrared thermometer is used for contactless temperature measurement.
Vibration is a characteristic of all industrial machines. When vibration increases beyond normal levels, it may indicate only normal wear - or it may signal immediate maintenance action.
Understanding why vibration occurs and how it manifests itself is a key first step toward preventing vibration from causing trouble.

A calliper (American spelling also caliper) is a device used to measure the distance between two opposite sides of an object. The tips of the calliper are adjusted to fit across the points to be measured, the calliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between the tips with a measuring tool, such as a ruler.

A micrometer, sometimes known as a micrometer screw gauge, is a device incorporating a calibrated screw used widely for precise measurement of small distances in mechanical engineering and machining as well as most mechanical trades.

Phrases
General purpose tools are used in
different crafts to fix, mount and assemble machines.
The drill is used to make holes in
different materials for example (e.g.)
metal, wood or stone.
When drilling it is important to wear
protection glasses to protect the eyes.
The grinding machine is used to sharpen
drills. It is fixed onto a table.
The angle grinder is a hand held
machine used to cut or grind different materials. The exchangeable
cutting wheel must be appropriate for the material you are working
with.
Winding machines are used for transformer winding or to make the coils used in electric motors.
